Columbia-Greene Community College A comprehensive two-year college offering a variety of transfer and career programs leading to associate degrees, as well as specialized courses geared to community interest. Its noncredit program provides over 600 courses a year during five separate semesters. A wide array of classes are offered under such programs as Arts and Crafts, Computer Skills, Cooking, Personal Finance, Music and Dance, Health and Personal Development, Physical Fitness, Workforce and Professional Skills Development as well as subjects of unique and special interest. In addition, the college has a Senior Citizen Audit Program, which allows people over sixty to take credit or noncredit classes for free. Adult Learning Institute Provides educational, cultural and social experiences for mature adults. Peer-led, member directed educational organization. Call for additional information and membership pplications. Literacy Volunteers of Greene and Columbia Counties Non-Profit affiliate of Literacy Volunteers of America. Offers one-to-one tutoring to adults at level 1 or 2 or ESL at no cost to the student. Trains volunteers in learner-centered teaching. Driver Rehabilitation Services Driver Education: Initiated by a physician's order. This evaluation objectively assesses an individual's potential to become a safe, independent driver, or to resume safe, competent driving. Driver Rehabilitation: Program isolates specific driver impairment and implements a program to compensate for the disability through the appropriate application of technology and adaptive driver rehabilitation strategies. |
