Office for the Aging The Office for the Aging attempts to identify, seek out and encourage hard to reach, isolated or homebound older persons to use existing benefits and services. Contact the office if you are aware of individuals who may need assistance. Office for the Aging Activities include publication of the quarterly newsletter, Senior Report, brochures, booklets and posters. Additionally, staff are guest speakers at Senior Clubs, Fraternal and Civic organizations, Religious groups, etc. Occasional radio programs, television shows and newspaper feature articles are planned. Rural Healthways Newsletter published twice a year by The Healthcare Consortium. Features health news and tips from local sources. A health events and clinics calendar appears in each issue. Also available on the web site: www.columbiahealthnet.org Speakers Bureau The health education Speakers Bureau provides presentatations by experts to small and large fraternal and social groups, private organizations, schools, etc. on a wide variety of health topics. The single source for local health news, on-line health services information and links to nationally recognized health sites. The site is managed by The Healthcare Consortium to provide 24-hour access to Columbia County residents and visitors to the county. |
